CURRENT VACANCY INFORMATION
The Department of Corrections, Adult Community Corrections, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Regional Correctional Manager located in Region 3 - Bangor. This position will be the primary point of contact/supervision for Region III probation officers and will include other RCM duties including oversight of a transitional housing program. This position is open for current Department of Corrections.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a managerial position designed to assist the Regional Correctional Administrators in planning, coordinating, directing and evaluating community corrections staff performance, and monitoring policy and procedural compliance. As a Regional Correctional Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of quality performance standards for Adult Community Probation Officers in your assigned region. This position includes oversight of a transitional living program for recently released residents and clients of the department of corrections. You will work with staff and stakeholders in leading your officers in evidence-based best practices in community corrections. You will also play a critical role in supervising, coaching, and leading Probation Officers in promoting the goals, policies, and mission of the Maine Department of Corrections.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be successful in this field you will need to have knowledge in areas such as:

- Management and supervisory principles and practices.
- Social service agencies.
- Treatment modalities and community resources.
As well, you must have the ability to:
- Communicate effectively.
- Lead and manage people and resources.
- Incorporate evidence-based practices into daily activities.
- Implement goals.
- Exercise discretion and sound judgment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Five (5) years of training, education, or experience in either adult or juvenile community corrections programs and services.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class.)
Annual firearms qualification.
