Technical Trainer

BHS Corrugated is seeking a Technical Trainer to join our growing team in our Charlotte, NC office!

Summary:

This position is responsible for qualifying/training new hire technicians & existing technicians on installation, service and maintenance job functions at BHS Corrugated. This role is an on-site position in Charlotte, NC and requires less than 50% travel.

Responsibilities:

• Qualifying employees in box plant enviroment for the corrugated/packaging industry. 
• Deliver new hire and continuing education training to BHS technical employees as required.
• Conduct qualification assessments for all levels of BHS technical employees
• Coordinate/schedule qualification events and training sessions
• Support and Administer BHS Apprenticeship Program
• Analyze skills and capability gaps of technical employees for development purposes
• Partner with mentors and supervisors to create development plans for technical employees
• Mentor, coach and advise technical employees as needed.
• Follow, understand, and execute a blended learning training plan by delivering instructor led, on the job, virtual and computer-based training to BHS technical employees
• Participate in train the trainer courses, certification classes, On the job trainings and other educational opportunities to increase technical knowledge.
• Prepare qualifications and training reports as required, analyze trends and report findings to training & operations leadership.
• Communicate effectively with members of management team
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in learning and development is preferred, or 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience in corrugated industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with all levels of personnel.
• Must have an outgoing, “coaching” personality with enthusiasm for public speaking and the ability to engage adult learners.
• Previous experience in the corrugated industry in a maintenance function is preferred.
• Extensive travel throughout North America and on occasion to Europe.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a passport.
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Should possess the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform bending and twisting motions, safely lift and maneuver objects weighing at least 30 pounds, navigate and walk over equipment, ascend, and descend ladders and stairs, and work effectively in temperature ranges, including hot and cold environments, while on customer locations
