THEATRE AND DANCE - PART-TIME LECTURER POOL, DANCE PROGRAM. The Theatre and Dance Department, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in the DANCE Program. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter and/or Spring quarters of the 2025-2026 academic year, which begins September 11, 2025. Teaching assignments are contingent upon budget and enrollments. Duties may include teaching activity classes in ballet, ballroom, tap, modern, jazz, hip-hop, Pilates/conditioning, and/or folk dance; and/or lecture classes in Dance Appreciation (lower-division), or Cultural Influence on Dance in America (upper-division).

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,221

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement for those teaching activity or lab sections. Candidates for lecture classes must have an advanced degree (MA, MFA, Ph.D.) and university-level teaching experience in Dance centered studies or Dance composition and technique.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to those with university-level teaching experience, Ph.D. in Dance centered studies or allied fields, or MFA in Dance composition and technique for lecture and upper division sections.
