Purpose
Reporting to the associate director of annual giving, this position will assist with and implement strategies for Dell Medical School’s annual giving program and track and analyze data to advance the identification, retention, and cultivation of annual fund donors. Working closely with the stewardship, development communications, events, prospect research and leadership giving teams, this position will help advance and increase alumni giving and the retention and growth of the annual giving society. This position broadly supports the dynamic mission of Dell Medical School: to transform health and health care.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the associate director of annual giving to achieve goals of $1M+ in annual giving fundraising, new donor identification and retention goals.
Collaborate with the development communications and stewardship teams to develop and draft content for direct mail and email solicitations for Dell Med’s annual giving program, as well as develop and execute annual impact reports, renewal letters and other digital and print touchpoints as needed.
Help coordinate direct mail and e-mail annual fund solicitations and donor acquisitions in alignment with funding priorities that will aggressively identify and grow the annual fund.
Partner with UT Health Austin marketing and Dell Med communications teams to create dynamic messages that connect annual fund giving opportunities with various internal and external audiences within their communication channels.
Lead Forty for 40 campaign with a focus on increasing new donor gift counts and donor retention.
In coordination with the student affairs department, and other teams within the office of development, manage the alumni giving program with the goal of stewarding and cultivating relationships to encourage alumni to become annual fund donors.
Manage the growth of our leadership giving society with the goal of serving as a pipeline for annual fund donors to become major donors. Work closely with the leadership gift officers, stewardship, and events teams to create cohesive donor engagements that support and drive stewardship and cultivation strategies.
Assist with tracking annual giving campaign deadlines and provide project management assistance.
Assist with updating VIP and logging contact reports/engagement efforts as needed.
Manage solicit codes on annual giving mailings and emails; help track performance of pieces and campaigns. Advise on strategy based on outcomes.
Pull reports related to annual giving and help vet and manage lists for mailings and email.
Submit and track all financial reimbursements for annual giving.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in fundraising strategy, communications, nonprofit work or corporate administrative work. Enthusiasm for fundraising with an understanding of higher education advancement and annual giving. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with experience writing marketing materials or development-related solicitations. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and handle tight schedules while working as a team member. Demonstrated attention to detail and ingenuity. Demonstrated collegial relationship building skills as well as interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Experience maintaining calendars and schedules for multiple administrators, composing and editing correspondence, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and working with databases. High level of professionalism and customer service. Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for health care, research, education and community impact. Experience in development writing or marketing communications. Ability to utilize data to develop and hone fundraising strategies. Experience advancing development efforts in medicine, cancer, science, health care or related discipline. More than three years of increasing responsible project management experience or development experience.
