The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety organization as a member of the business unit EH&S central team. The selected candidate must be a self-starter, energetic and able to work in a fast-pace collaborative team environment.
This ideal candidate will have relevant experience implementing EH&S programs and will be responsible for daily coordination of Raytheon health and safety programs. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritize and provide timely support for multiple customers, requests, and projects on a daily basis. The candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence internal and external groups including engineers, factory line employees, and management. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of continuous improvement related to EH&S programs.
What You Will Do
- This position will assist in the development and implementation of EHS initiatives, projects and programs that support the global EH&S organization.
- Follow the EH&S Management system and work in a team environment to drive corporate and global EH&S initiatives.
- Apply Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) philosophies to H&S technical safety and ergonomics programs.
- Review Ergonomic injury data to identify common causes and develop common mitigations to prevent reoccurrences.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate ergonomic and musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) reduction programs and projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and Raytheon policy.
- Provide expertise for ergonomic assessments, including NIOSH lifting equation and EJMS tools.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate a massage therapy program across the Raytheon business to proactively reduce injury severity.
- Assists sites with incident investigations and utilizes both technical and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
- Coordinate with site based EH&S teams to implement lessons learned and mitigations following serious incidents or near-misses.
- Supports implementation of the Raytheon machine guarding program, including coordination with applicable sites and vendors.
- Apply CORE (Customer Oriented, Results and Excellence), Lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvements to existing processes, practices the EH&S management system. Support in-depth analysis of the business for EH&S improvement opportunities and develops/implements programs to reduce risk and achieve and maintain compliance.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Willing and able to travel domestically up to 25%.
- Typically requires a degree in Occupational, Health and Safety or similar.
- with 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- 8 years of experience working with factory equipment, manufacturing, field safety and EH&S management systems
- 8 years of experience in EH&S regulatory and management systems, including compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety local/state/federal regulations.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Continuous Improvement experience e.g. CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN etc. strongly desired.
- Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Additional certifications, such as CSP, CIH, or Certified Ergonomist strongly preferred.
