Overview
The IT Operations Team Lead will act as a bridge between the IT Operations team and the IT Security Team. Primary responsibilities will be to work with the compliance team, facilitating communication and collaboration between the two groups. Interpret and communicate SOX compliance requirements to the IT Operations team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The IT Operations Team Lead will provide regular updates and reports to both the IT Ops and IT Security teams regarding patch validation activities, including any security findings or recommendations. Additionally, the individual with be responsible for documenting patch validation procedures, findings, and outcomes in a clear and concise manner. This role will lead the IT Operations Team in investigating and remediation of critical security vulnerabilities to ensure that patch validation activities comply with established security policies, standards, and procedures. While collaborating with the IT Security Team to coordinate patch validation activities, ensuring that patches are thoroughly tested for security implications before deployment.
Responsibilities
• Lead the IT Ops SOX quarterly activity and work with the SOX management team on the control execution and testing• Support the SOX compliance team during audits by providing relevant documentation, evidence, and assistance as needed• Ensure that patch validation activities comply with established security policies, standards, and procedures• Analyze patches to identify any security vulnerabilities or issues introduced by the patches and work with the IT Ops team to remediate them• Improve processes with automation, workflow optimization, and automation across infrastructure environments• Develop, implement, and report on meaningful operational metrics that drive continuous improvement activities and results• Collaborate within IT and with various business leaders to record and keep current documentation of production system, applications, and Network as well as • Develop and maintain RACI • Participates in employee development and talent growth• Focus on ticketing tracking, trends, and lead remediation efforts of repetitive issues
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required:• Bachelor’s Degree, IT, Computer Science, or related field; or 4 additional years of relevant IT Technical experience. Preferred:• Minimum Experience Required:• 5-7 years of technical experience, managing the health, hygiene, stability, and outcomes of a Microsoft-based infrastructure production environment • Practical understanding of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance obligations Preferred:• Minimum 6 months people management experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities• Team leadership utilizing the ITIL framework for Incident and Problem management. • Working technical knowledge and experience covering the entire Microsoft computing stack to include MS OS, Hypervisor, RDS, SQL Server, Active Directory, O365• Hands-on expertise in optimizing processes and environments within IT to improve stability, performance while documenting and expanding the team’s knowledge and use of the improvements.• Experience in compute capacity planning, server environment upgrades and patching and software license management.• Multi-year experience in cloud environments of Azure and AWS. • Functional knowledge of Network, SD WAN, Infrastructure Monitoring • Solid comprehension of server and workstation patching best practices Licenses and Certifications Required: • Preferred:• ITIL v3 or 4Virtual Employee?
