Position Summary:
The Clinic Director assumes leadership and manages clinical operations at Moundville Medical Associates. This leadership role requires an experienced healthcare professional who is licensed as an RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Alabama and who is committed to improving access and quality of care in underserved rural communities.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical oversight to nursing and support staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and serve as a liaison between patients, families, staff, and providers to resolve concerns and improve patient satisfaction.
2. Coordinate staffing schedules, clinical workflows, and patient care initiatives.
3. Ensure proper documentation practices to support compliance and reimbursement.
4. Develop and maintain computerized electronic health record system
5. Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of medical and nursing
service and other appropriate clinic personnel.
6. Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel.
7. Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures for the facility or medical unit.
8. Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including planning budgets
9. Provide direct patient care in a clinical capacity
10. All other responsibilities as determined by CEO
Required Qualifications:
1. Active and unrestricted Alabama RN or LPN license
2. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rural, resource-limited setting
4. Must be able to function efficiently and independently in a stressful work environment
5. Must pass a drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
1. 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (primary care, family practice, or community health)
2. 1+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting
3. 1+ Years Rural health clinic experience
4. 2+ Years management experience
5. Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g. AthenaHealth)
6. Current CPR/BLS
Working Conditions
1. May be exposed to the risk of communicable diseases and radiation.
2. May require handling of unclean or infectious materials.
3. Normally works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated area.
4. Must be able to work under the stress and conditions that normally exist in a hospital setting.
5. Classification Category I – Tasks that involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
