Job Description:  

This is a highly specialized Utility Coordinator Senior Technician position. The Utility Coordinator will primarily be working with the MaineDOT Bridge Program, but may include Highway, Multi-Modal and Maintenance unit projects.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring consistent statewide policies and standards,
• Working closely with the Utility Engineer, other Utility Coordinators and the Project Managers,
• Coordinating project schedules with priorities for utility company resources to ensure the timely adjustment and relocation of utility, railroad and municipal facilities within the State's right of way,
• Working with utility companies to locate utilities and plans and schedules necessary adjustments and relocations,
• Coordinating work within railroad right-of-ways,
• Coordinating meetings between utility companies, contractors, railroads, Department personnel and other stakeholders involved with the projects,
• Developing agreements with utilities, railroads and municipalities, and,
• Serving as the utility and railroad team member on assigned projects.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Eight (8) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and four (4) years of engineering experience -OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in engineering.
