To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. SCI Personnel Security (PERSEC): Experience administering SCI personnel security requirements, including reviewing and processing SCI eligibility and access actions, conducting indoctrinations and debriefings, processing visit certifications, and advising personnel on SCI security requirements. SCIF Physical Security and Accreditation: Experience supporting the accreditation, inspection, administration, or continued operation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), including application of ICD 705 physical and technical security requirements. SCI Information Security: Experience implementing and overseeing procedures for the receipt, handling, safeguarding, transmission, storage, dissemination, and destruction of Sensitive Compartmented Information and other classified national security information. SCI Security Program Management and Compliance: Experience evaluating SCI security programs for compliance with applicable policies and directives; conducting or supporting inspections, self-assessments, incident inquiries, corrective actions, and security education and awareness activities. Security Policy, Analysis, and Advisory Support: Experience interpreting and applying Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, or other federal security policies and providing technical guidance and recommendations to leadership, customers, and security personnel regarding complex SCI security matters. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
