The Part-Time Adaptive Program Coordinator will ensure that the program runs smoothly and effectively every Saturday at the Major Owens Community Center (1561 Bedford Avenue), our Brooklyn location. You’ll be the driving force behind the scenes, ensuring that participants, staff, and parents all have the best possible experience.
Responsibilities:

Manage Inclusive Classes: Oversee the onsite management of our unique, inclusive program that caters to neurodivergent children. Ensure that everything from set-up to participant experience is flawless.

Provide Behavioral Support: Work closely with children who have diverse needs, offering support to manage behaviors and make sure everyone feels safe and can participate.

Coordinate Staff: Track staff hours, ensure all team members are supported, and manage staff schedules to keep everything running smoothly.

Manage Arrival & Dismissal: Organize the check-in and check-out process for participants, ensuring a smooth transition for kids and parents at both the beginning and end of each session.

Communicate with Parents: Be the primary point of contact for parents onsite, answering questions, providing updates, and ensuring they feel confident and well-informed about their child’s experience.

Handle Incidents: Quickly and effectively respond to any medical and behavioral incidents, reporting them immediately to the Director of Adaptive Programs.
Qualifications

At least 1 year of program management and staff management experience, ideally in adaptive, inclusive, or youth programming.

Experience in working with neurodivergent children, especially in providing behavioral support in a fun, active setting.

Excellent communication and organizational skills and can manage multiple responsibilities while ensuring the safety and success of the program.

Thrive in high-energy environments and can keep things running smoothly, even on busy days.
We are looking to hire individuals who are Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), special education teachers, occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) interns, or anyone passionate about making a positive impact in adaptive programming and inclusive sports.
