Senior Manager, Software Engineering

What you'll do...

About Team:
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.

What you ll do:

• Engage in technical design and discussions to drive technical architecture
• Analyze and mitigate technical and product risks
• Participate in relevant Engineering and Technical Operations workgroups and on-call rotations to ensure service availability
• Foster, enable, and promote innovation within the team
• Define team metrics and meet productivity goals of the organization
• Mentor software engineers and support their career growth
• Build relationships with other business areas (Product, UX, Ops) to develop technical solutions
• Ensure Software Quality Engineering through best practices, automated code testing, and proactive production app support
• Collaborate closely with Program and Product Managers to prioritize and point engineering work correctly

What you will bring:

• Proven experience as a hands-on technical leader in Software Application Development and lifecycle management
• Strong knowledge and expertise in the following technologies:
• Java Spring Boot services
• Jenkins Pipelines
• GitHub
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Distributed Data processing
• Event-driven design
• Messaging Technologies
• SonarQube
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to influence and manage stakeholders, including leadership
• Proficiency in managing software development engineers and tech leads
• Familiarity with global implementation of technology projects
