ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Daily sorting and transporting of various types of correspondences, mail, files and material to and from various locations
- Delivery of supplies and miscellaneous items to various locations.
- Special deliveries as required.
- Assist with transporting vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Residency in Illinois within 90 days of hire.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and provide proof of clean driving record.
- Must have ability to or willing to learn to operate large trucks and vans, CDL is preferred.
- Ability to use navigation tools such as smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
- Ability to understand and follow a series of instructions with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and prepare a variety of reports, forms, logs, lists and correspondence using prescribed formats.
- Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of material and/or mail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of and/or ability to quickly learn warehouse codes and terminology.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures, including functions relating to inventory, stock control and record keeping.
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
- Must be available to work hours commensurate with those of assigned Department.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds at all times.
- Must be able to wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, and operate a variety of power equipment and machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, box cutters or similar tools.
- Must be able to walk, sit, or drive a vehicle for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to quickly enter and exit vehicles and/or buildings throughout workday.
- Must be able to perform work in all types of weather.
- Must have ability to move around and perform work in the warehouse, loading docks or record room(s).
