Senior Data Scientist, Experimentation (Statistician)

GENERAL FUNCTION:

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, and statistical measurement to optimize customer interactions across marketing, servicing, and digital channels. This role is a technical individual contributor position with high visibility and strategic impact. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable experimentation frameworks, partnering cross-functionally to ensure technical solutions drive improvements in both customer outcomes and business performance. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Experimentation Strategy & Execution 

• Design and measure robust experiments to optimize customer engagement across channels 

• Develop scalable experimentation infrastructure that supports concurrent tests while preserving causal validity 

• Translate complex statistical findings into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with product, marketing, finance, and engineering teams to align on test design and implementation 

• Provide statistical guidance and mentorship to peers and stakeholders on best practices in experimentation 

Technical Leadership 

• Lead the development and deployment of experimentation platforms and tooling in production environments 

• Document and evangelize experimentation processes across technical and non-technical audiences 

Innovation & Continuous Learning 

• Contribute to the roadmap for an always-on personalization engine 

• Stay current with advancements in causal inference, uplift modeling, and experimental design 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or related field strongly preferred 

• 7+ years of experience in designing and analyzing experiments, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., banking, healthcare) 

• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, custom-built) 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels 

• Experience deploying statistical models and experimentation frameworks in production environments
