RSM’s Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) practice is looking for skilled professionals to join us as a Life Sciences Practice Group Supervisor. RSM’s FAO practice blends the best of both worlds by providing candidates with all the career growth opportunities that come with working for a public accounting firm while at the same time operating in private company environments on a daily basis. We provide accounting, technology, and consulting services to private, lower-middle market clients, with revenues ranging from $0 to $300 million. In other words, we are the accounting department for our clients. The Life Sciences FAO Supervisor will work with our diverse client base in the life sciences industry, including BioPharma and the Life Science Services sector, such as CROs and CMOs. This position will need to work to tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, month-end close activities, financial reporting, year-end client tax and audit projects, and the support of budget and forecast activities. In addition, the ability to learn and efficiently use our best-in-class cloud-based technology stack is critical. The Life Sciences FAO Supervisor will have contact with clients (CEO, COO, CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, etc.) and other client contacts, including the client's tax accountant and other professional service providers.

- Life science industry experience inside a life sciences organization and / or serving in a professional services capacity
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into transactional level detail as the job demands
- Strong project management skills with a superior ability to prioritize and focus in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment
- Willingness to learn and work with emerging technology solutions such as OCR(Optical Character Recognition), AI(Artificial Intelligence), and Accounting BOTS
- Professional presentation and great communication skills as contact with clients will be extensive
- Interest in personal/professional development and advancement and dedication to lifelong learning, including staying abreast of best practices in financial management
- Ability to analyze and interpret - not just report - financial information to add value to client businesses as a trusted adviser
Responsibilities:
- Key point of contact for our clients’ Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, Month End Close, and Record to Report cycles
- Collaborate with RSM’s offshore teams, ensuring effective communication, timely deliverables, and quality work output in accordance with the RSM FAO’s standards
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in their professional development and ensuring their productivity and performance meet established goals.
- Support the client’s monthly accounting needs, which may at times include hands-on transaction processing support and month-end close support, which includes preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare/Review the client’s monthly financial statements, including month-over-month variance analysis and / or actual-to-budget analysis
- Analyze and interpret financial information for client management and provide actionable insight and decision support
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the clients’ monthly operations and make suggestions for process improvements
- Understand our technology stack and identify additional add-on processes, systems, modules, and integrations that can drive month-end close efficiencies
- Define and document repeatable methodologies with appropriate tools and templates that can be leveraged for future projects.

- Direct initial assessments, implementations, and onboarding of new FAO clients
- Participate in meetings with new client prospects and in the proposal process
