As our Senior QA Engineer, you will be part of our WebApp Team. 

The WebApp Team partner all areas of Digital Science and adds value through designing and building comprehensive test frameworks for complex web applications, establishing best practices for test automation, and ensuring high-quality standards for all deliverables, contributing to the strategic growth plans of the business. 

In your role as Senior QA Engineer you will architect and build test automation suites, collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC, integrate continuous testing, and continuously improve testing methodologies and tools.

What you’ll be doing

  • As our Senior QA Engineer, you will be integral to the WebApp Team, focusing on ensuring the highest quality of our complex web applications within the Dimensions product portfolio. Your work directly contributes to establishing robust quality standards and supporting the strategic growth plans of the business.
  • You will be designing and building out a complete and extensive test framework to cover various complex web applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • You will be establishing best practices and coding standards for test automation, making the framework maintainable, reusable, and extensible across different teams and projects.
  • Working with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers, you will collaborate closely to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • You will develop and architect a comprehensive test automation suite using modern frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, supporting unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • You will manage the integration of the testing framework into our lifecycle development process, enabling continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
  • You will provide continuous improvement by conducting research and evaluating new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the framework's performance, reliability, and capabilities.
  • You will liaise with industry trends to stay up-to-date with advancements in software quality assurance and testing methodologies.
  • You will support the overall quality assurance efforts of the WebApp Team, ensuring the delivery of stable and reliable products.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • As a Senior QA Engineer, you will bring a robust blend of experience, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to quality assurance, aligning perfectly with the role's purpose of designing and building a comprehensive test framework.
  • You will be able to design, develop, and maintain extensive test automation frameworks for complex web applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables across our product portfolio.
  • You will have a sound knowledge of modern test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, capable of architecting comprehensive test suites that cover unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • You will be an experienced practitioner in test automation and performance testing, with a proven track record of leading testing efforts for complex software projects.
  • You will have an understanding and experience of embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle, including proficient use of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for integrating and executing automated tests, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • You will have advanced programming skills, preferably in Python and JavaScript, enabling you to build robust and maintainable automation solutions.
  • You will have an understanding and experience of agile methodologies coupled with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, and an inherent inquisitiveness for continuous learning and improvement.
