IT Concepts Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to support our Defense Intelligence Client in Washington, D.C.

We’re currently hiring for a Senior Communication Specialist who is passionate about planning, developing, and implementing successful focused communication strategies. This is an excellent opportunity to work with agency professionals while utilizing your communications/public affairs/public relations skills. This role requires an understanding of the communications plan processes including audience, messaging, tools/tactics, and measurement. As the Sr. Communications Specialist, it is expected that you can create communications plans, campaigns, and messaging on behalf of senior leadership. These plans must convey the proper messaging to ensure the success of a significant financial investment that the agency has made in their Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading communication support such as: the development, preparation, production, coordination, and editing of a range of products that may include strategy and planning documents, talking points, and speeches in support of technology, town halls, memos to the workforce, Congressional correspondences, analytics, and data around workforce planning, human resources, and manpower.
  • Prepare assignments based on input from subject matter experts.
  • Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud suite or other tools to create compelling content.
  • Provide support by researching, proofreading, editing, creating, writing, processing, revising, formatting, providing quality checks, and coordinating the composition of products for hardcopy and electronic publication, as well as dissemination on multiple platforms. Products will be in a variety of formats, styles, and configurations, including written and web-based products
  • Ensure documentation and editing support includes checks for accuracy and consistency in organization, style, readability, and accessibility based on the medium
  • Draft and edit a variety of communication materials and products, including but not limited to talking points, speeches, quotes, remarks, leadership communications, marketing copy, newsletter content, website content, and other communications products
  • Serve as the primary author on fact sheets, pamphlets, website content, articles, email messaging, and other communications products, as needed
  • Initiate, plan, execute, and report on tasks independently, as identified
  • Rewrite submissions as necessary to organize, balance, and apply a consistent sense of style, grammar, and flow to these written materials.
  • Lead and direct activities of junior members of the team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision from government leaders.
  • Ability to research and seek the information needed to properly develop communications materials.
  • Project management skills to plan and execute on-site events as part of an overall communications program.
  • Facilitate meetings and events involving Senior Executive members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or public affairs or Journalism
  • 7+years of experience communications (or change management, marketing, journalism, advertising, public affairs)
  • Conveys complex information in a clear and simple manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Expertise in MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with tools to include: the MS Office suite, MS Teams and SharePoint, as well as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience Building, editing, rewriting slides/presentations for high level officials.
  • Forward thinking and have ability to establish strategic plan of action.
  • Understand different audiences and how to tailor products.
  • Able to handle short-notice and short-timeline taskers.
  • Good at establishing a battle rhythm and SOP for success.
  • Ability to work at levels ranging from executive level briefings to room set up team.

Clearance:

  • Must have active TS/SCI clearance and able/willing to get CI polygraph
