This individual will serve as a cloud/virtualization subject matter expert who is relied upon for understanding customers' unique environments and the ability to provide architectural recommendations of the Gigamon cloud solutions. The cloud architect is integral to the sales process, enabling sales teams and engaging customers and partners. The ideal candidate should project strong technical credibility when interfacing with customers in pre-sales situations. The cloud architect is a member of the Cloud Architecture Team and is accountable for growing the cloud business, sharing best practices, and improving Global Sales Engineering cloud capabilities. In addition, the Cloud Architecture Team provides the voice of the customer that enables internal cross-functional teams to make future product, development, and service decisions.  What you’ll do: 
  • Lead customer discussions related to cloud/virtual network visibility.
  • Increase the pipeline of opportunities and win rate of cloud solutions.
  • Assist in creating cloud learning paths on cloud products and solutions.
  • Continuously increase sales team cloud knowledge and sales effectiveness through training and enablement.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of public and private cloud platforms and capabilities, especially those related to network visibility and data acquisition.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of ecosystem technology solutions and competitive solutions.
  • Develop technical presentations and educate partner Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Represent Gigamon as a speaker in industry forums, events, and conferences.
  • Be the technical voice for all things related to hybrid cloud visibility in environments including AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud, VMware ESXi, NSX-T, Nutanix, and Kubernetes-based containerized infrastructures.
  • Act as a conduit for customer feedback to cross-functional teams like Product Management, Technical Marketing, competitive intelligence, and R&D to create requirements, product features, and marketing assets.
What you’ve done: 
  • 5-10 years of experience in a customer-facing, Pre-Sales Engineer role.
  • 3+ years’ experience in virtualization – multiple hypervisors and management/orchestration tools.
  • Must have architecture-level certification for at least one public or private cloud, as well as the willingness to obtain certification for multiple cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud operation and configuration.
  • Proven experience with VMware ESXi, NSX-T, Nutanix, and/or OpenStack platform operation and configuration.
  • Proven experience with containerized platform operation and configuration, primarily Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of container and DevOps technologies such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Deep understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems as well as containers.
  • Strong technical foundation of network essentials – L2/L3/L4-7, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, etc.
  • Effective technical presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area (Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience.
