The Work You Will Do:
HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II / DISTRICT 4 / DISTRICT MAINTENANCE / FT. PIERCE MAINTENANCE-ADMINISTRATION / FT. PIERCE MAINTENANCE FIELD CREWS
This position will play a critical role in maintaining FDOT’s infrastructure to an optimal level and for the safety of the traveling public by performing routine roadway maintenance activities. This position also contributes to emergency response and restoration efforts due to natural disasters throughout the State of Florida.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional permit or license; operates a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs and dump truck. Performs pre-trip inspection/minor maintenance on vehicles/equipment that they are operating. Cleans and washes equipment.
Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways. Performs independent manual labor incidental to job assignments at an intermediate level of complexity with minimal supervision.
Performs temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
Performs rough carpentry, masonry, painting and/or assist in the assembly and erection of highway signs.
