Summary
Business Data Analyst collaborating with city departments on KPIs, data collection, and public dashboards. Skilled in analyzing data using various methods to provide recommendations and visualizations. Supports surveys, documents processes, and conducts data analysis training. Contributes data expertise to planning efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborates with City departments to select, track, and report key performance indicators.
• Assists in developing data collection processes and procedures.
• Develops and maintains public online performance dashboards.
• Analyzes data using quantitative and qualitative methods to generate recommendations, reports, and data visualizations.
• Assists with survey design, deployment, and results analysis.
• Documents procedures and may recommend improvements to data analysis processes.
• Develops and conducts workshops and seminars on data analysis and interpretation.
• May contribute to the development of major planning efforts to ensure sound data collection and analysis.
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Business, Public Administration, or related field
• One (1) year of experience in data analysis, quantitative research methods, or business/finance (Projects completed as part of coursework may substitute for equivalent work experience)
• Possess one of the following technical skills:
◦ Experience working with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and reporting tools
◦ Working knowledge of R, SPSS, Stata or other statistical software
◦ Experience using Excel for data cleaning, analysis, and reporting, with a strong command of formulas, charts, and pivot tables.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Business, Public Administration, or related field
• Experience working with Smartsheet
