Position Summary

WashU's Division of Student Affairs seeks a health promotions professional for the position of Assistant Director, Health Promotions. The Division of Student Affairs advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success.

The Assistant Director, Health Promotion Services will assist in developing a department that reflects the vision of Student Affairs' strategic well-being goals.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of the Peer Health Educator (PHE) undergraduate volunteer program, including annual recruitment, selection, and fall training.
  • Develop and manage communication systems, procedures, policies, and workflow for all health promotion communications. Coordinate website updates, social media, printed materials, digital screens, and WashU publications. Responsibilities include collecting, creating, editing, sharing, and posting content. Provide support as needed for SHC and CCPS communications.
  • Manage and provide direct oversight of satellite office operations and logistics, including recruiting, training, supervising, and scheduling graduate student workers.
  • Manage Health Promotions operations budget, including satellite office, communications, and Peer Health Educator program expenses.
  • Manage budget resources for topic-specific prevention efforts.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the resource library.
  • Develop and coordinate evidence-based, subject-specific programs, including their promotion, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate implementation of the American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment (ACHA-NCHA), support and promote the implementation of the Missouri Assessment of College Health Behaviors (MACH-B).
  • Advise health-related student groups to ensure the health-related messages are accurate and consistent with SHC and CCPS.
  • Assist in planning and executing Healthy Excellence programming during fall orientation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
