The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Specialist based out of San Antonio, TX.

The selected candidate will join the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team directly supporting the fabrication of Boeing aircraft interiors and electrical systems. As part of the EHS team you lead the team in supporting health and safety initiatives, projects targeting risk and injury reduction, and compliance to Boeing standards and policies. The position provides an opportunity for growth in a wide range of safety and health programs including (but not limited to): machine operations, automation, powered industrial trucks, hazardous energy control, lockout/tagout, crane operations, and ergonomics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and monitors occupational health and safety programs and processes within an industrial setting

  • Integrates and partners with onsite Boeing Global Services (BGS) EHS organization

  • Develops and provides training and instruction to aerospace employees

  • Evaluates the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations

  • Develops corrective action plan in response to internal/external audits and inspections

  • Plans and conducts health and safety audits/inspections

  • Performs program management for assigned areas of responsibilities

  • Interfaces directly with hourly employees, Operations Managers, and other personnel to support factory operations

  • Works to resolve identified hazards through collaboration with other support functions such as facilities, engineering, equipment services, and tooling

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

  • 3+ years of experience performing health and safety risk assessments, developing and managing safety programs, and performing audits

  • 3+ years of experience collaborating across functions and organizations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience with safety and health audits

  • Experience in ergonomic evaluation, solution development, and implementation

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $110,500 – $149,500
