The Department of Medicine, Division of Myeloma has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Clinical Business Operations Representative 2 to work on the UHealth Campus. The Clinical Business Operations Representative 2 facilitates the prompt resolution of problems related to pre and post care that arise in daily clinical operations. The incumbent performs general administrative and receptionist functions, to include answering incoming calls, efficient management of patients, and the acquisition of necessary patient care and records. The Clinical Business Operations Representative 2 assists patients in a courteous, efficient and professional manner and ensures adherence to divisional and departmental service standards.

• Supports the assigned Physician and the ARNP to ensure smooth operations of the medical practice to include scheduling appointments, testing, procedures, and facilitating referrals to other departments.

• Communicates with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and patients concerning patient care.

• Coordinates Prior Authorizations for prescriptions, admissions, and other ambulatory exams as needed.

• Calls prescriptions to pharmacies.

• Triage patient problems and inquiries to the appropriate physician or nurse.

• Schedules patient tests and procedures with ancillary services in UMHC and JMH (Includes lab tests, nuclear medicine studies, x-rays, MRI's, psychosocial, etc.)

• Coordinates physician contact with home health agencies.

• Obtains Chemo and radiology authorizations.

• Uploads external records in EPIC for physician review prior to clinic.

• Coordinates and participates in weekly meetings with assigned Myeloma M.D. and clinical support staff to review medical records, future appointments, and confirm orders are entered in EPIC.

• Monitors in-basket pool to ensure all patient messages are resolved within 24 hours.

• Reviews and monitors Physician templates and escalates template issues to Sr. Division Administrator.

• Manages assigned provider(s) administrative calendar.

• Coordinates meetings with the development office to support patient donations.

• Assists with Myeloma Institute events such as MM Awareness month and Myeloma Spanish Support Group.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

• Skill in data entry with minimal errors.

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

• Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
