About the role
Our team is seeking an Account Director with healthcare, client experience, and media expertise to serve as a senior counselor to our clients. As a Director, you will be expected to develop and execute strategic integrated communications programs, partnering with healthcare clients and account teams to implement impactful and audience-centric PR programs. You will be a team-oriented leader and collaborative partner with excellent organizational and prioritization skills as well as a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. In addition, you should have a strong agency background in healthcare communications with experience working on pharmaceutical products, as well as previous experiencing working on FDA product approvals.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the day-to-day program lead across clients, interagency partners, and internal team members, ensuring the successful implementation of the PR program.
- Support design and lead execution of multichannel, earned-first creative activations in partnership with specialist teams (Earned Media, Creative, Strategy, Digital).
- Initiate and closely manage implementation of client-approved programs, understanding brand, program and tactic status, dependencies and considerations at all times.
- Serve as the driving force behind all program elements, providing clear direction to the internal team (across CX and specialist partners), foreseeing potential roadblocks and proactively recommending/implementing solutions.
- Oversee development of a variety of material types (including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc.), ensuring strategic integrity of all client deliverables.
- Build strong client relationships, demonstrating expertise on the client’s business, competitive landscape, and audience.
- Lead the team in demonstrating executional excellence, ensuring all deliverables are polished, error-free, strategically sound and on-time/budget.
- Identify training and development needs of junior staff and provide opportunities that enable staff members to reach their full potential.
- Lead financial management for clients, including development of scopes of work and invoices, reviewing financial reports, managing budget trackers, partnering with clients on budget management, etc.
The requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- 6-8 years of agency experience
- Experience leading integrated agency teams (Earned Media, Social, Partnerships, Creative) and collaborating with a matrixed interagency team
- Deep knowledge of the pharma regulatory landscape, ideally with experience managing both data/regulatory milestones as well as consumer-focused campaigns
- Ability to lead/manage multiple clients and programs (and associated expectations and timing) at once
- Experience mentoring and training junior team members
- Can promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational functions
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and always focus on problem-solving
- Outstanding communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in sculpting and telling a cohesive story
NYC Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000
