Grinding Production Supervisor

Scientific Products, an ATS Life Sciences Company, is expanding our team and has an immediate opening for a Grinding Production Supervisor! The Grinding Production Supervisor is a fulltime position reporting directly to the Precision Bore PB Production Manager. This position is responsible for the supervision of the grinding and cutting team managing the associative manufacturing processes Continuous improvement is a major emphasis and will be used to drive performance.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Plan and execute production planning to minimize lead times and improve on time delivery and meet production schedules
•  Coach and provide technical and/or analytical expertise to resolve process related issues and create corrective actions with appropriate follow up plans
•  Drive cross training and related knowledge transfer initiatives to Safely lead the team in its efforts to manufacture quality products on time
•  Motivate others to assist in driving and maintaining high level of morale and ethical behavior
•  Drive positive employee behavior and performance through coaching mentoring and effective evaluation processes
•  Communicate and when necessary calibrate expectations to all direct reports and peer members
•  Plan and monitor capacity optimization for all manufacturing processes
•  Ensure that appropriate expectations are communicated to direct reports and maintained for respective processes and objectives
•  Assist in the management of spending against budget for Grinding manufacturing processes
•  Participate in and/or lead daily weekly and monthly Daily Visual Management DVM Process Improvement Management meetings
•  Efficiently manage team to maximize throughput while reducing overtime
•  Assist in the implementation of Standard Work
•  Participate in and encourage cross functional problem solving throughout multiple departments and value streams

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

•  Demonstrated leadership skills
•  Effective oral and written communication skills
•  Strong organizational skills
•  Competent understanding and experience in Microsoft Office applications
•  Minimum 2-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
•  Associates degree in Business Engineering and/or Operations related field or equivalent operational experience

Supervisor responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

• Ensure that equipment, materials and protective devices are functioning in a safe manner
• Ensure that employees are working in accordance with divisional health and safety procedures
• Applies progressive discipline as appropriate for health, safety and/or environmental violations
• Advise employees of the existence of any potential or actual health and safety risks
• Provide appropriate instruction for safe work
• Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees
• Conduct periodic inspections and audits in accordance with legislative and/or corporate requirements
• Conduct accident/incident investigations, prepare necessary reports and communicate to line management, health and safety personnel and health and safety committee
• Ensure that all employees, including temporary workers and contractors, adhere to safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment
• Support activities and initiatives outlined by the Joint Health and Safety Committee
