<p>Your role: As a Computational Toxicology Expert for our Life Science division, you will be working in a global network of experts and ensuring all chemicals are classified in accordance with applicable global regulations. Our Life Science chemical portfolio consists of upwards of 100,000 unique neat chemicals and hundreds of thousands of mixtures. Your solid background in computational toxicology will allow you to evaluate toxicological endpoints of chemicals using computational models e.g. based on Quantitative structure–activity relationship. But you will also use read-across and/or data-waiving to close toxicological data gaps. In addition, you will support our digital strategy to combine all our in silico tools into an automated workflow. In addition to the technical and academic requirements of this position, you must also be comfortable developing your expertise within an international team. This role requires well rounded communication and collaboration skills as many projects and initiatives will require the input and support from EH&S, regulatory compliance, Registration, and others in order to be successful. In this role you will be using computational models you will evaluate hazards of data-poor chemicals according to the Globally Harmonized System for classification and labeling (GHS). By predicting hazards, you will support to identify possible <em>Greener Alternatives </em>according to the Safe and Sustainable by Design framework. The role involves the implementation of the EU Chemical Strategy for Sustainability together with other teams world-wide. You will support our digital strategy to combine our in silico tools in an automated workflow and patricipate in industry or academia associations to push the acceptance of new approach methodologies (NAMs) for the chemical safety assessment. In this role you will keep track of regulatory updates.</p>

<p>Who you are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Master’s or PhD in toxicology, informatics, chemoinformatics pharmacology, chemistry, biochemistry or a related field and with minimum 3 years relevant working experience</li>
<li>Familiarity with the Globally Harmonized Classification System GHS/US OSHA HCS/EU CLP or other GHS related adoptions and the European Chemical Strategy for Sustainability</li>
<li>Well experienced using predictive modelling tools for toxicological endpoints like the OECD QSAR Toolbox, ACD Percepta, Leadscope, VEGA, OPERA, Derek Nexus or others</li>
<li>Ability to quickly learn and evaluate new software and to modify or trouble-shoot existing QSAR tools</li>
<li>Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously and possess strong data analysis expertise</li>
<li>DABT or equivalent qualification is preferred but not a must</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>High IT affinity and comfortable with data analytics using either low-code platforms (e.g. KNIME) or programming languages (e.g. Python)</li>
<li>Experience in SAP EHS systems is an advantage</li>
<li>Very good communicating skills and a good team-player</li>
<li>Fluent in English, written and spoken </li>
<li>Able to work comfortably in an dynamic, high throughput environment</li>
