HR Generalist

Mazak Corporation is looking for an HR Generalist to join the HR team at our North American Headquarters in Florence, KY. The HR Generalist – Recruitment & Training will serve as a key member of the HR team by providing broad support across talent acquisition, onboarding, training, compliance, and safety initiatives. This role combines full-cycle recruiting with training program coordination and HR reporting to ensure workforce readiness, legal compliance, and a safe, supportive workplace. The ideal candidate will bring strong recruiting experience, advanced reporting and software skills, and the ability to partner across departments to deliver effective HR solutions.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Assist in managing the recruitment process from sourcing to hiring.
• Conduct pre-employment background checks and ensure complete compliance from new hires.
• Support the facilitation of the New Hire Orientation and Onboarding processes for Mazak USA.
• Attend and participate in job fairs and other recruitment related events.
• Maintain up to date roster of contractor and temporary associates.
• Communicate with partnered staffing agencies to facilitate the onboarding process for new temporary associates; handle time cards and resolve issues.
• Coordinate & track annual HR mandated training for all Mazak associates.
• Assign, track, and report on training in Learning Management System to ensure compliance with Federal – EEOC, OFCCP – state laws and regulations as well as ISO requirements.
• Collaborate with department managers and HR to create learning paths for new hires (or new to role employees) and to ensure continuous education / training needs are met.
• Monitor, initiate, and document all required training for Mazak employees.
• Partner with hiring leaders to create training schedules.
• Prepare monthly training report.
• Prepare and maintain monthly workforce reports.
• Support compliance audits through accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
• Create monthly “Spotlight on Safety” initiatives.
• Maintain safety manuals.
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills:
• 5+ years of Human Resources & recruitment is required.
• Previous training experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of applicant tracking systems and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Power BI or similar software.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across departments.
• Requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
