Primary Responsibilities:

• Engaging with performers and external stakeholders (via virtual conferences and events, meetings, discussions, webinars, etc.) and facilitate contacts between companies and CTR stakeholders/potential end-users via informal and formal methods• Performing day-to-day coordination of assigned projects that may involve developing keynote speeches, ribbon cutting speeches, talking points for senior level meetings, letters of condolence or appreciation, blogs and larger documents such as the directorate’s Executive Summary Report to Congress; responding to data calls, and coordinating and facilitating programmatic meetings• Providing program management and communications subject matter expertise and programmatic services to support the CTR Directors ability to increase external engagement and participation in stakeholder events such as events and workshops• Monitoring and reporting on performance against CTR goals, key outputs, outcomes, and impacts to technical and non-technical audiences, as needed• Writing, editing, and reviewing content including, brochures, fact sheets, video and radio scripts, white papers, presentations, case studies, press releases, proposals, nominations, and other artifacts (as needed)• Synthesizing data and information from disparate sources to develop effective (oral and written) communications as well as translating technical and complex topics into differentiated messaging that resonates with key stakeholders• Ensuring quality assurance/quality control in work products and consistency with the organization’s style and format guidelines outlined in the Correspondence Guidebook• Coordinating communications approvals for project-related programmatic and technical slide presentations, white papers, and other documentation to support project meetings, technical reviews, and presentations to senior leadership, as required• Ensure an internal control over all messaging on behalf of the Director• Serve as primary meeting notetaker across organizational levels, tailoring content for relevant audiences; assist as Staff Action Control Officer by drafting tasker instructions, reviewing/finalizing products for senior leaders to ensure audience-appropriate focus and adherence to standards.• Provide comprehensive knowledge management and analytical support by ensuring proper filing of key products for easy retrieval by senior leaders; overseeing requests, actions, and follow-ups for high-level government officials; and developing metrics, visuals, and progress tracking mechanisms for major deliverables to drive organizational efficiency and improvement.• Provide direct support to the Director, Deputy Director, and Chief of Staff while establishing and maintaining effective and positive working relationships across all interactions.• Conducts vulnerability analysis and develops process improvements to enable streamlined communication and/or products and tools that lead to more efficient operational practices

Required Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Secret• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, literature, communications, political science, or a similar discipline. A master’s degree is preferable. • 3-5 years of experience writing at the senior executive level; excellent research and analytical skills• Former experience / strong knowledge and understanding of congressional processes• Skilled at crafting a compelling message that effectively communicates the speaker's ideas, values, and objectives to the audience• Strong technical writer: highly proficient at notetaking and editing content ensure clarity, factual accuracy and audience’s level of need to know• Understanding of the Cooperative Threat Reduction Directorate, its relevant interagency stakeholders, and position within the larger Department of Defense

Desired Qualifications

• Confidence and ability to form trusted relationship with senior executives through dialogue and professional disposition• Ability to assume all responsibilities of a directorate Staff Action Control Officer• Familiarity with the DoD tasking system, ETMS2• Strong skills in SharePoint and MS Teams platform• Positive, forward leaning individual interested in engaging across teams to build a stronger organization• Ability to work remotely
