QUALITY ASSURANCE

What We Do

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

We're looking for a QA Lead for Online Web Applications responsible for testing and contributing to team management responsible for many of our websites. This position owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of Epic and Fortnite web features, where you will be part of a rapidly iterating development team working closely with professional and highly technical developers.

In this role, you will

• Manage teams of Quality Assurance professionals dedicated to building systems from the ground up and integrating them into other teams for support
• Create and maintain the overall quality strategy for the websites under your responsibility, defining acceptance criteria, identifying risks, and planning testing coverage for upcoming features/releases in collaboration with product owners, developers, and QA management
• Invest in evaluating and improving department-level initiatives on Quality Assurance Standards of work, managing functional, qualitative, and performance testing efforts
• Utilize a mix of manual and technical testing skills to execute various testing techniques across products, analyzing their quality and providing support to developers before, during, and after deployments
• Manage, mentor, and develop future leaders within the department, fostering growth and leadership development
• Continuously improve the quality assurance processes, strategies, and standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products
• Contribute to the overall quality culture by setting standards, providing guidance, and driving quality initiatives within the organization

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of QA experience in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to juggle multiple projects, and 2+ years of leadership experience
• Extensive experience testing frontend and backend services, console and mobile platforms, creating detailed test plans and test cases, and using tools like Charles, Postman, RestAssured, and other testing tools to facilitate troubleshooting and testing
• Strong problem-solving skills, especially in technical environments, utilizing debugging tools (e.g., Visual Studio, Chrome Debug tools, Firebug, etc.) to investigate and report on results and prior experience with running and designing automated tests is an advantage and familiarity with programming languages is a plus (e.g., Java, JavaScript, etc.)
• Solid understanding of test methodologies, including automation, functional, qualitative, and performance testing against consistently iterative development
• Experience with common source control and CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Git, TeamCity/Perforce, or comparable systems is highly desired
• Prior experience with running and designing automated tests is an advantage
• Previous experience testing services running in AWS is preferred
• Ability to prioritize and work independently and in a team environment.
