Position Summary:

Laronde is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our Targeted Delivery, Formulation and Chemistry teams. In this role you will build and provide leadership for a team focusing on systemic, intracellular, and tissue specific delivery of eRNA as well as formulation methods. We are looking for someone to set strategy and provide leadership to leaders.

In this role you will lead implementation of strategies toward ligand and encapsulation based targeting and delivery approaches. You will collaborate cross functionally with teams within platform and research areas groups to advance platform and therapeutic area programs as well with Technical development and Manufacturing teams. We are searching for driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who are comfortable building and leading teams and collaborating closely on various aspects of the platform.

This role will be based out of our new state-of-the-art site in Somerville, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a vision and team focused on innovative approaches to delivery of nucleic acids
• Lead design and implementation of delivery and formulation methods to drive programs in multiple disease areas using various routes of administration
• Work closely with Platform, Research, and Technical development teams to drive discovery and development efforts
• Provide scientific leadership by coordinating teams across diverse backgrounds
• Oversee and provide scientific direction to multiple direct reports
• Establish and oversee external project and scientific collaborators and contract research organizations
• Maintain scientific and technical expertise through familiarity with scientific literature, attending conferences, and developing relationships with thought leaders
• Work closely with an entrepreneurial, highly-collaborative, interdisciplinary team and actively contribute to creating, shaping and executing the scientific vision of the company

Qualifications:

• PhD+ 15 years industry experience, MS+20 years industry experience or equivalent in bioengineering, biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry or related field
• Established leader in the field of delivery and formulation of nucleic acids, RNA focus preferred
• In depth expertise with both targeting and nanoformulation approaches to pre-clinical delivery
• Understanding of biodistribution and intracellular uptake parameters of receptor targeted and systemic nucleic acid delivery modalities
• Experience with design, production and characterization of encapsulated and conjugated delivery systems
• 10+ years of experience developing technology platforms for therapeutic programs in industry
• Experience with developing strategic timelines and executing successful on corporate goals
• Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and technical environment
• Strong management experience and success in developing a scientific team and program
