Job Description
The Area Lead is responsible for overseeing the workflow on the production floor in a particular area. This position is also responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between subordinates and upper management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accomplish Area objectives by developing schedules, assigning, and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
- Assist operators with issues related to safety, quality, and production.
- Serve as final reviewer and verifier for respective production Area to ensure all parts are meeting the quality standard prior to moving onto the next Area.
- Assist with operating a machine when needed or to fill in for an operator for breaks or training, or to assist with covering the area during operator absence.
- Verify test pieces are completed at the beginning of the shift and meet the quality standard.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing California Closets standards and adhering to safety regulations.
- Support production in all equipment areas including panel saw, edge band, computer numerical control (CNC), and pack.
Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
- Must hold (or obtain) a Level 4 in the Area assigned (Saw, Pack, CNC, or Banding), within 3 months of becoming an Area Lead
- Should know how to run or should be actively training on all production equipment and production parts.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and methodologies.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable proscribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to take direction and disseminate information to a team in an effective and meaningful manner.
- Ability to adhere to our attendance policy; regular and acceptable punctuality and attendance is required
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel.
