Senior Site Reliability Engineer

<p>Hiire is helping Condukt, a well-funded UK-based startup hire a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for their new office in Porto.</p><h3>The company</h3><p>Our customer is a business identity platform that enables the onboarding of businesses of any size easily and instantly. Our products create a trust for financial service providers (our customers) to seamlessly verify, onboard, and monitor businesses (their clients).</p><h3>Position Overview</h3><p>We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will be a shaper of the design and architecture of the core platform, and work closely with the founding team to deliver value to our clients.<br/>As an early-stage startup, we pride ourselves on our ability to roll up our sleeves and build from scratch. We will be shipping code frequently and learning as we go while satisfying all critical security, performance, and uptime requirements for our clients.<br/>We all love to build, scale, and grow. You should be ready to move fast, embrace uncertainty, and wear different hats.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul> <li>Oversee and optimize database performance, scalability, and availability</li> <li>Manage Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Networking to support high-<br/>performance workloads</li> <li>Implement Incident Response &amp; Reliability Engineering best practices to maintain<br/>uptime and mitigate risks</li> <li>Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure operations</li> <li>Use Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools to manage infrastructure efficiently</li> <li>Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar<br/>technologies</li> <li>Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment</li> <li>Leverage Cloud Run and other serverless technologies to enhance performance and scalability</li> </ul><h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3><ul> <li>Effective and self-driven builder</li> <li>Proven track record (5+ years) building and owning a complete end-to-end<br/>technology stack (Backend, CI/CD, Logging, Monitoring, Alerting)</li> <li>3+ years of hand-on Python experience in production environments</li> <li>Experience with Google Cloud Platform</li> <li>Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration, including Helm or<br/>Kustomize integration for ArgoCD</li> <li>Familiarity with Terraform</li> <li>Skilled in designing and implementing customer-facing REST APIs and<br/>asynchronous architectures (e.g. queues, pub/sub, lambdas, webhooks)</li> <li>Strong expertise in relational database modeling, using PostgreSQL in production</li> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field</li> <li>Well-versed in DevOps best practices, such as DevOps, and CI/CD</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an agile<br/>environment</li> <li>Work authorization in Portugal</li> </ul><h3><strong>Perks &amp; Benefits</strong></h3><ul> <li>Competitive salary package (including equity)</li> <li>Enhanced health benefits</li> <li>Flexible working policy (hybrid)</li> <li>22 vacation days</li> <li>Standard benefits</li> <li>Sick days and compassionate leave as needed</li> </ul><p></p>
