Theatre Assistant, SC1THEATSPARTS (SU26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Construction, painting and setup of the state scenery and props.

  • Hanging, focusing and operation of theater lighting equipment.
  • Setup and operation of theater sound equipment.
  • General maintenance of shop and stage areas.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
      • If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
      • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
    • Experience
      • Use of ordinary and power tools required.
      • Previous experience in technical theater helpful required.
    • Licenses and Certifications
      • COD Training
        • Compliance Training

      Working Conditions:

    • Hand tools, power tools, lighting/sound instruments and computerized light board.
    • Heavy lifting, exposure to heights.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
    • Evening and weekend hours involved in productions.
    • This student position does not require any testing.
    • Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
