Job Description
Your new role
As our new Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Hybrid, you will lead mechanical design projects from concept through design, and in many cases through construction. We invite you to bring your consulting mindset and drive into play as you integrate into a sustainable and innovative mechanical department. To succeed in this role, you must have an educational foundation related to mechanical engineering and an interest in sustainable design, central utility plants, and energy distribution systems.
Assignment types include, but are not limited to, performing design work in various areas of the mechanical discipline; range from industrial piping to HVAC systems, plumbing, central utility plant systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, district heating, and combined heat and power systems.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details associated with mechanical engineering projects.
- Creating design drawings utilizing 3D design software (Revit and/or CADWorx)
- Review the schedule of the projects under your supervision
- Maintain the cost of projects under your supervision within the stated budgets
- Prepare work necessary to complete contract documents (plans & specifications) for all work on which bids are to be taken
- Cooperate and communicate with other engineers, designers, and drafters assigned to the various phases of the project
- Perform detailed checking of work performed under your supervision
- Undertake research, investigation, writing and editing of reports
- Perform construction administrative tasks
- Travel required in the New York State area

Qualifications
About you

These include:
- 10 years of experience (8 years minimum) in the consulting industry.
- B.S. (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to foster a creative engineering environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work across a wide range of areas within the mechanical engineering discipline
- Ability and desire to obtain professional registration (FE and PE)
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Proven experience in Revit MEP preferred
- Proficiency in other engineer software proffered; to include HAP, Pipeflow, Caesar, Trane Trace.
