Experienced transactional real estate attorney supporting all aspects of Ethan Conrad Properties, including leasing, real property acquisitions and dispositions, development and other general portfolio management matters. This role will work directly with the CEO and senior leadership.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, negotiate and manage execution of a high volume of complex real estate leases, subleases, licenses, and agreements within tight deadlines (retail, commercial, office and industrial leases); draft, negotiate and finalize real estate purchase and sale agreements and related closing documents.
- Represent the company on all commercial real estate transactions, including complex real estate agreements, real estate and land acquisitions/dispositions, compliance requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Draft and review ancillary real estate documents (amendments, assignments, terminations, easements, license agreements, NDAs, brokerage agreements, SNDAs, estoppels etc.)
- Provide legal support for real estate related disputes and litigation; work closely with internal teams to handle post lease execution issues and Landlord/Tenant relationships and resolution of claims or disputes
- Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial contract advice
Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school required.
- Licensed to practice law in California.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
- Strong drafting, analytical and research skills required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, fluid and collegial corporate culture.
- Demonstrated success working in a high-performing, business results-driven environment is a must.
- Ability to draft and close commercial agreements with minimal support.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational and planning skills with the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under tight deadlines
