This position is focused on building solutions that make delivering value to our clients easier, more efficient, and more impactful. Developers will often work cross-functionally to support innovations in the delivery of our products and services.

The developer will be responsible for building new functionality as well as writing bug fixes and providing developer support for existing functionality using a variety of tools/languages including, but not limited to, RPGLE, CLLE, DDS, and SQL.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Maintain and update code in RPG – including I, II, III, and ILE (IV).
• Gain understanding of our database infrastructure to create new reports and modify existing reports. 
• Monitor scheduled jobs and live jobs for error messages to address immediately and make recommendations for corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
• Read code and effectively answer business logic questions asked by clients and client services team. 
• Research problems, development solutions, and provide documentation for projects.
• Meet with users to gain insights or clarifications on requirements.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• At least five years’ experience developing IBM i (iSeries) software solutions in a corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of databases and IBM i operating system.
• Understanding of internal controls and change management processes.
• Experience with at least 2 of the following is preferred:
  1. HTML
  2. XML
  3. JavaScript
  4. JSON
  5. Java
  6. PostgreSQL
  7. REST APIs
• Strong sub-file skills and experience with embedded SQL.

The successful candidate will be skilled in prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks and also establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships while promoting teamwork.

RKD Group is a remote-first company, with our headquarters located in Dallas, TX. 

Pay Range expected for the position: $100,000 - $125,000 annually.
