C++ Technical Lead, Intelligence Systems

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril Intelligence Systems (AIS) is focused on positioning Anduril as a lead provider of specialized engineering and products for Intelligence Community (IC) customers. We work within the IC to understand their requirements, shape their concepts of operation, and deliver exquisite capability across their problem set. We aim to develop and deploy critically needed capabilities that address our customers’ most pressing national security requirements.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a C++ Technical Lead to join our rapidly growing team in Reston, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for helping lead the delivery of high stakes, high profile, complex customer programs while strengthening our engineering and program-specific capabilities across the business line. This is a technical role for a strong engineering leader who will be accountable for production-ready high-scale systems. This person will oversee engineers who build custom hardware and software solutions, connecting sensors and data spanning multiple domains and forces across a dynamic battle-space.

We are looking for someone who has experience designing → building → and delivering complex customer programs requiring both technical knowledge and leadership skills to set objectives, build teams, and drive projects to completion. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience to deliver highly complex, optimized, multi-disciplinary products and programs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Create, own, and maintain software roadmap and execution plan, with detailed breakdown of work and milestones tracked against broader program deliverables
• Lead inter-disciplinary team (SW, T&E, HW) to develop and deliver integrated system consisting of multiple libraries and services
• Establish and maintain best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing
• Manage team of SWEs and provide guidance on the scope, direction, and technical approach of their work. Proactively identify and remove blockers for the team
• Perform hands-on-keyboard software development for critical tasks and as needed to meet program deadlines
• Organize technical integration efforts of third-party systems and APIs to include scoping key deliverables and impact to broader program
• Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring
• Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps with external, third party engineering teams
• Travel up to 15% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world at Anduril test ranges
• Communicate results in multiple forms internally and externally and serve as the primary technical point of contact with internal and external teams
• Support engagements with the customer as the technical SME.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years in relevant Science and/or Engineering related field
• 8+ years of experience writing production software (C or C++ preferred)
• 8+ years leading and building agile SWE teams
• Experience building software solutions involving hardware integrations
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Significant customer-facing experience (ie. strong inter-personal skills / executive gravitas) leading high profile and high stakes programs
• Experience with SITL and HITL simulation environments and the execution of comprehensive testing programs
• Cyber security, accreditation and multi network systems experience

US Salary Range$196,000—$294,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business consideration
