The Langham, Boston is one of the city’s most historic hotels and one of the most iconic luxury hotels in the US. You will be working with a passionate & talented Security Team to successfully execute all Security and Safety directives, by delivering high standards in guest experience & colleague engagement while in alignment with the culture and values of Langham Hospitality Group. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protect colleagues, guests, and company assets by providing a safe and secure hotel environment.
  • Responsible for securing building, including monitoring, inspecting and securing all entrances and exits, and surveillance of person(s) in all areas of hotel property.
  • Respond effectively to all guest and colleague inquiries and/or concerns.
  • Serve on Emergency Response Team in any emergency situation.
  • Participates in security investigations, reports all infractions to laws, company policies and breaches of security to immediate supervisor.
  • Complete, follow through with, and close all incidents or investigations involving guests or colleagues.
  • Ability and willingness to work with City, State, Federal and/or foreign security forces or detail in the event of a visiting US or foreign delegation, dignitary, celebrity or member of Royalty.
  • Provide basic first aid to injured colleagues or guests.  Upon assessment of the injury, make recommendations to the injured person as to any additional medical attention that may be required or requested.
  • Inspect and ensure the proper function and use of all safety equipment.
  • Oversee the completion and appropriately maintain records of Crowd Management safety checklists
  • Investigate all accusations of theft and wrong doing.
  • Investigate all cases referred by the Director of Security or other Executive Management.
  • Conducts random bag checks for colleagues at the colleague entrance.
  • Inspect all items being discarded or removed from property.
  • Provide an escort to various colleagues handling cash to ensure safe transport of company assets.  Provide an escort for guests and colleagues when requested.
  • Monitor and ensure that departmental KPI’s are being met.
  • Professionally serve all guests, visitors and colleagues as requested. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Law enforcement, private security, or military experience helpful.
  • Licensed Security Agent as required by State or local authorities is preferred but not required. 
  • Certified Lodging Security Officer/Supervisor preferred.
  • Certified in Adult, Child and Infant CPR, AED and First Aid (Trainer) preferred
  • TIPS Certified preferred.
  • Crowd Control Manager Certified preferred.
  • Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of handling all types of emergencies, people and stressful situations.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time and great distances.
  • May be required to work outside of the building, for periods of time during events or special situations.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with a clear understanding as to who is, or should be, part of the conversation.
  • Must be available to work the overnight shift. 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
