Senior Mobile Developer

<p>We are looking for a <strong>Senior Mobile Developer</strong> with strong expertise <strong>in Mobile SDK development</strong>, in-depth knowledge of the <strong>Android platform</strong> (including<strong> Gradle</strong> and <strong>Android Studio</strong>), strong proficiency in <strong>Kotlin,</strong> and a proven track record in integrating <strong>third-party libraries and SDKs.</strong> In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and improving our <strong>in-app Android SDK for eCommerce platforms.</strong></p> <p>This position demands <strong>expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose</strong>, a solid grasp of <strong>Android Jetpack components</strong>, and hands-on experience with <strong>API integrations and framework lifecycle management</strong>. While <strong>native Android development</strong> remains the core focus, familiarity with <strong>React Native or Flutter</strong> (or a willingness to learn) is beneficial. You will also play a crucial role in<strong> SDK security </strong>and <strong>enhancing the developer experience (DX)</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implementing features to our Android SDK in collaboration with the team for consistent and aligned design/architecture between our iOS and Android SDKs.</li> <li>Ensure <strong>security, performance, and scalability</strong> in SDK implementation.</li> <li>Optimize <strong>Gradle configurations</strong> for dependency management, build automation, and streamlined releases.</li> <li>Implement <strong>Jetpack Compose UI components</strong> and integrate <strong>Android Jetpack libraries</strong> (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, WorkManager).</li> <li>Manage <strong>API integrations</strong> and third-party SDK lifecycles to ensure smooth interoperability.</li> <li>Work on <strong>cross-platform SDK support</strong> for <strong>React Native and Flutter</strong> (if applicable).</li> <li>Provide <strong>comprehensive SDK documentation</strong>, sample apps, and developer guides.</li> <li>Collaborate with <strong>product managers and merchant integration engineers</strong> to align SDK capabilities with business needs.</li> <li>Stay ahead of <strong>Android development trends, security updates, and regulatory changes</strong> in payments.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong><br/><strong>Technical Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>3+ years of experience in Android development</strong> or <strong>2+ years of experience using Kotlin</strong>, with a solid understanding of the development tools in Android</li> <li>Strong experience in J<strong>etpack Compose</strong> and <strong>modern Android UI development</strong>.</li> <li>Proficiency in <strong>Android Jetpack components</strong> (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, WorkManager, etc.).</li> <li>Experience integrating <strong>RESTful APIs</strong> and managing <strong>third-party SDK/framework lifecycles</strong>.</li> <li>Some experience (or willingness to learn) with <strong>React Native or Flutter </strong>for SDK adoption in cross-platform environments.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of <strong>Git</strong> (branching strategies, pull requests, conflict resolution, etc.).</li> <li>Understanding of the <strong>Android app publishing process</strong> (app signing, release management, Play Store distribution).</li> <li>Hands-on experience with <strong>Gradle</strong> for dependency management and automated build processes.<br/> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with <strong>automated testing</strong> (Unit, UI, and Integration tests).</li> <li>Understanding of <strong>Android security best practices.</strong></li> <li>Previous experience <strong>publishing an open-source library </strong>or contributing to <strong>public repositories</strong>.</li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>CI/CD tools</strong> like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.</li> <li>Experience working in <strong>mobile SDK, EMV 3D Secure, or mobile wallets.</strong></li> </ul> <p>If you’ve got what it takes for this role and enjoy driving the team with agility ingredients forward, then you <br/>might be just what we're looking for!
