As a Technical Designer, you’ll lead and drive client projects from concept through build, ensuring that we deliver unparalleled architectural solutions. You will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop innovative and resilient learning environments, manage technical documentation, and provide creative direction.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the creative efforts and develop overall design concepts and design presentation strategies

  • Mentor and provide creative direction to design teams

  • Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants

  • Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full construction documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil, and other consultants

  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges

  • Produce design concept drawings and finished design presentation documentation

  • Provide code expertise for the project and the team

  • Maintain and write project manuals and specifications

  • Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors

  • Conduct Construction Administration duties, including documenting site visits, processing submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction

  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited school

  • 10+ years of project experience in architectural design, with recent experience in education projects preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills

  • Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office encouraged

  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures

  • LEED accreditation is preferred

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; portfolios should include at least one project with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification
