The Woolwich Distribution site is one of two new U.S. distribution hubs opened within the last year to enhance and streamline our delivery operations. We’re aiming to elevate the customer experience and generate cost savings with state-of-the-art technology and standardized processes. But none of it can happen without you – the people who power our operations and ensure that our customers receive our life-saving therapies when they need them. 
  • The Senior Distribution Manager oversees all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, ensuring precise handling of materials and products. This role is crucial in maintaining operational efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and driving continuous improvement within the distribution function.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse.
  • Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting.
  • Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements.
  • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.
  • (un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations.
  • Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication Skills.
  • Functional Skills: Systems Thinking, Scientific Computing, Quality Management, Technology Awareness.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires broad management knowledge to lead project teams in one department.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Nice-to-Have: 

 

Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are desirable: 

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of supervisors and professionals. 

  • Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP). 

  • Experience with lean principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. 

  • Advanced knowledge of distribution operations, including shipping/receiving, inventory management, and logistics. 

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for tracking and reporting. 

  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
