How will you make an impact?

As a Lead Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring product and process quality within a regulated manufacturing environment. You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with quality standards, and support production through measurement, validation, and documentation. Your leadership and technical expertise will help maintain high standards in medical manufacturing quality control, while your attention to detail and communication skills will support training, audits, and data analysis.

What will you do?

  • Perform complex inspections and quality control tests on raw materials, packaging, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing and support certification of test instruments and apparatus.
  • Train new inspectors on policies, procedures, and inspection techniques; monitor performance and provide corrective guidance.
  • Ensure gauges are calibrated, properly used, and stored; arrange repairs as needed.
  • Participate in design of experiments and process capability studies.
  • Review and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) data; correct input errors and retrain staff as needed.
  • Analyze quality data and summarize findings to validate standards or identify deviations.
  • Recommend updates to standards, methods, and procedures to improve quality.
  • Coordinate daily work and priorities for junior quality technicians based on production schedules.
  • Conduct product and process audits, mold qualifications, and start-up inspections.
  • Perform layout inspections and in-process measurements using blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Maintain and review Batch History Records (BHRs) for completeness and accuracy; prepare Certificates of Compliance/Analysis.
  • Oversee instrument calibration systems and perform related tasks.
  • Ensure documentation and procedures meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA QSR Part 820.
  • Maintain workflow and availability of inspection materials.
  • Record bar code transactions using the Worldwide Bar Code System.
  • Maintain employee time and activity records and ensure adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Comply with company safety, security, and quality policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in inspection, injection molding, metrology, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Experience certifying metrology equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and computer-controlled gauging systems.
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated industries preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of blueprints, engineering specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Proficiency in SPC software, measurement techniques, and calibration processes.
  • Ability to conduct statistical analysis including process control charts and capability studies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail in documentation, inspection, and data analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
