Position Overview

The Novelis Corporate Strategy team is seeking a Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy! The person in this role will report to the Director, Corporate Strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading processes for planning Novelis’s strategic direction and identifying the most profitable paths and levers to meet business objectives. This position will focus on 1) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and 2) Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures (M&A), with other responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• ERM
  • Organize and lead the interview and feedback collection process with key personnel across Novelis 
  • Delegate work to and collaborate with other Corporate Strategy team members to execute the interview plan for each quarterly cycle 
  • Foster relationships across a wide internal network and communicate and interact with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts globally 
  • Synthesize the information gathered via the interview process into an incisive report to be shared with a BoD-level audience
  • Research and prepare analysis of special topical focus area
• M&A

• • Participate in the analysis of opportunities for acquisitions or divestitures, including project management, due diligence and business case and investment justification preparation
• Multi-task, manage details and maintain high quality in a timeline-driven environment 
• Support the director with other recurring and ad hoc deliverables, including: 
  • Maintenance of the extended team's budget and tracking performance against the budget for expenditures 
  • Support of the competitor and market intelligence gathering and reporting process
  • Other ad hoc projects as required, including work that may be supervised by other members of the Corporate Strategy team 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, banking, or strategy, business development, finance or similar function in a corporate setting
• Project management experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and Intellectual curiosity
• Demonstrated ability at capturing and synthesizing data from internal and external sources
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to and working with senior leaders
• Diligent, self-starter who is focused and flexible
• Excellent organization and ability to manage projects in a structured way
• Ability to positively manage change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, comfortable with ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing and presenting material to a senior-level audience
• International experience (work experience or study abroad)
• M&A experience
• Experience in a consulting environment
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Familiarity with PowerBI and similar reporting tools
