Job Title: Senior Accountant
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM St. Lewisburg, TN Time (10:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHT) with 1-hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)
About the Position: We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant with extensive experience in bookkeeping, tax, and payroll management. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is proficient in both individual and business income tax preparation, along with managing monthly bookkeeping and payroll operations. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data provided to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation: Prepare and file annual and quarterly individual and business tax returns. Stay updated with current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
- Bookkeeping: Manage all aspects of monthly and annual bookkeeping, including but not limited to, recording transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and maintenance of general ledger.
- Payroll Management: Oversee the preparation and processing of monthly payroll. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company contributions. Handle payroll taxes and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Distribute reports to clients and provide insight into financial status and operational performance.
- Client Interaction: Work directly with clients to review financial records, provide financial advice, and answer queries regarding tax, payroll, and accounting matters.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure all financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and internal policies. Assist with financial audits by providing necessary data and supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with a strong background in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online and Desktop) and proficiency in Drake Tax Software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
