Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to join our Financial Consulting practice, focusing on the insurance and banking industry. This role will be responsible for managing financial reporting, investment accounting, regulatory compliance, and process improvements across multiple areas for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT), experience with investment accounting, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, STAT, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and manage investment accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of various asset classes, including fixed income, equities, private placements, real estate investments, and alternative assets.
• Supervise a team of consultants, providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management.
• Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, statutory filings, and other regulatory reports.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, overseeing reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Work closely with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to address reporting and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on financial strategy, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
• Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting best practices to ensure compliance and business adaptability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, and investment accounting with Big 4 or insurance industry clients.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (and STAT principles as applicable for the insurance industry). Knowledge of banking regulatory requirements is considered as well.
• Experience with investment accounting systems, such as Clearwater, Aladdin Accounting, PAM, is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive process improvements.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
