GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for the continued development and implementation of the Bancorp's Enterprise Fraud Programs and oversight of the related fraud functions across assigned Line of Business or Operational areas, including ensuring compliance with federal Laws and regulations and industry standards. Fraud Managers are responsible for acting as subject matter experts on fraud by providing strategic leadership regarding the Bancorp's fraud programs. Incumbents are tasked with being involved in creating an operational strategy to enable products and processes that put the Bank’s clients first while being aware of the risks surrounding our product offerings and the regulatory requirements alongside Line of Business partnerships. Fraud Managers are responsible for analyzing current and emerging threat trends and proposing and implementing recommendations or system solutions to mitigate identified risks. This position is also responsible for team member development and employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and oversee the strategic aspects of the fraud programs.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of federal laws and regulations.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Line of Business (LOB) partners and customers as it relates to fraud.
  • Act as a leader across the Fraud organization; lead and support cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as a contact with bank regulators (developing and maintaining relationships, facilitating discussions, demonstrating strategic leadership regarding the program and future initiatives, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain relationships between Fraud and associated LOB leaders to ensure the implementation of effective programs across the Bancorp.
  • Actively promote a solution-oriented environment throughout the department.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and sponsorship for LOB and Bancorp projects, processes, and products.
  • Work with LOBs to identify policy and procedural enhancements in reference to new products and new initiatives, working with the teams to ensure proper assessment of the risk, the planning of controls and the adequate execution of those controls.
  • Maintain networks with industry working groups dedicated to bank fraud control practices to benchmark and share emerging threads and associated best practices.
  • Maintain awareness of company goals, regulatory/legislative development, and industry trends.
  • Lead and direct the analysis of policies and procedures, including scoring systems, strategic priorities, trends, external influences, current regulatory focuses, previous examination findings, and input from Audit and Legal.
  • Conduct interviews and discussions with senior level managers to understand process, guidelines, and technology.
  • Assess the adequacy of the business units'/affiliate's recommended corrective action to the issues or gaps identified.
  • Develop and report findings to management regarding their business lines (Legal, Audit, and senior level operating committees).
  • Work closely with leadership to set strategic direction for department and execute those goals and objectives.
  • Participate and/or lead regular meetings with peers to build and maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and risk in the environment.
  • Be part of developing a fraud communication strategy and plan to increase awareness about fraud prevention, both internally and externally.
  • Review and approve recommended solutions for the Regulatory Monitoring and Change Management Programs.
  • Review and address concerns from fraud audit testing results.
  • Contribute updates to the fraud risk assessments.
  • Support post-implementation validation based on risk rating.
