The Director, Project Engineering - Business Markets Position
Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Director, Project Engineering - Business Markets to be responsible for managing commercial and industrial and microgrids projects from beginning to end. This individual will work with customers, utilities, EPC firms, equipment vendor firms, and internal stakeholders during the project lifespan. This role will be the primary project technical authority on all business markets projectrelated activities

Director, Project Engineering - Business Markets Responsibilities

• Leads the large-scale engineering project planning process, including initiation, feasibility studies, design, engineering, equipment specification, selection and procurement, construction, commissioning, interconnection permits, and closeout.
• Develops and maintains applicable technical project and governing documents.
• Performs high level assessment and economic optimization studies to recommend go/no-go for commercial and industrial and microgrid opportunities.
• Oversees engineering drawings/packages, final designs, and scope of work to assess technical adequacy and select engineering bids.
• Directs project schedule, budget and resources including external vendors and contractors.
• Provides project metrics tracking and reports to stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• Education required: BS degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum years of experience required:15 years or more in the electric power industry and in managing large scale/complex projects.
• EIT Certification (Engineering in Training) 

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certifications
• Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with power system engineering design, protection, automation, and control.
• Experience with electrical design and distribution construction.
• Able to specify, requisition and analyze bids.
• Experience with acceptance testing and commissioning of electrical power equipment
