About the role


 
Summary:
The Final Assembly II technician is responsible for advanced mechanical integration of heavy-duty backup power systems. This role involves assembling complex components, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and mentoring junior team members. Working with diesel turbine generators and custom enclosures, the technician ensures high-quality, reliable solutions for critical infrastructure. This position is ideal for experienced individuals who value precision, leadership, and continuous improvement.
 
Accountabilities:
  • Lead or assist in the installation of generator systems including exhaust, fuel, air, and hydraulic lines.
  • Assemble advanced fuel and emissions systems such as dosing systems, urea tanks, and filtration systems.
  • Install and align generator components including isolators, battery racks, engine rails, and control boxes.
  • Perform radiator system installation and coolant charging.
  • Secure generator and housing units to tanks with precision and accuracy.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as grinders, die grinders, crimpers, and impact tools.
  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts (certification required).
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and notify Lead or Supervisor to resolve common issues.
  • Apply knowledge across multiple roles including welding, plumbing, and mechanical assembly.
  • Identify and correct defects in material or workmanship and notify Lead for direction on resolution.
  • Complete quality checks and report any issues to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Complete work assignments with moderate guidance or direction from leadership or team members.
  • Maintain awareness of pinch points, work area traffic, and equipment movement; take precautions to work safely.
  • Practice harness safety and follow all safety requirements and regulations for the assigned work area.
  • Assist in safety call-outs and report near misses and potential danger areas.
  • Agree and commit to assisting team members in safe evacuation procedures during emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the final assembly team.

Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training
