Shipping & Receiving Clerk - Newport, DE

 

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing all daily Shipping & Receiving related activities and operations for the site including storeroom items, project Items, mail runs, inventory control, and shipping samples to DOT requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

• Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.  Be knowledgeable of and follow all Environmental, Health and Safety practices including but not limited to: manage waste movements according to satellite and/or 90-day accumulation requirements, inspect air contaminant sources and institute corrective action for out-of-spec conditions, prevent releases into the sewer and/or stormwater systems by following BMPs (best management practices), activate Sun Chemical emergency response procedures in case of spills or other emergencies.  Comply with the requirements of the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.

• Execution of daily area activities to ensure storeroom objectives are met in a safe and timely manner.  These activities include:

  ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Receiving all packages for storeroom and operations
• • Performs SAP functions related to shipping and receiving
  • Deliver items to designated areas
  • Mail delivery
  • Ship samples according to DOT requirements
  • Safely Operate Pallet Jack and Fork Trucks
• ​​​​​​​Participate in Technical Stores inventory control through cycle counting and ensure sufficient stock is available to avoid stock outs and equipment downtime
