Job Summary:
Under general direction, the Sr. Buyer/Planner - Strategic Components at Super Micro Computer, Inc. plans and coordinates the purchasing functions of the technological division; coordinate the work of the buyers, purchases high quality supplies, materials and equipment in accordance with informal and formal bidding procedures; prepare specifications and contracts for services/supplies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Review sales forecast and determine optimal inventory level to minimize carrying costs
- Communicate with Program Managers/Sales to support system build plan
- Analyze global demand and provide forecast to suppliers
- Issue purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery
- Manage new product release and product obsolesces
- Provide product training to new sales for assigned products
- Maintain relationships and obtain best terms with suppliers
- Other relevant duties assigned by supervisor/manager
Qualifications:
- BS in Science, Engineering or Business major background preferred
- 8+ years relevant work experience in supply chain management
- Experience in handling high value commodity and high volume transactions, preferably CPUs
- Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Skilled in coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Able to function in a very fast paced environment and can adapt to changes quickly
- Extremely detail-oriented and self-driven

Salary Range: $115,000 - $157,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
