The role:
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic person to come and join our team. Our team consists of a multidisciplinary team of 21 members consisting of the Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior and Junior Occupational Therapists and other ancillary staff. This role will be based at the Mersey Community Hospital.
The successful applicant will:
- Provide support to Occupational Therapists in the provision of clinical services to clients of the Occupational Therapy Department
- Exercise initiative and independent judgement in undertaking these tasks under the general supervision of Occupational Therapists.
The team:
The Occupational Therapy Service works with clients in a number of clinical areas including Acute, Rehabilitation, Community, and Paediatrics.
The Mersey Community Hospital, Latrobe has 95 beds offers general and specialist health services including elective surgery, 24-hour emergency department, general medicine day surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care and oncology services along with a variety of specialist clinics.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position working 11.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from 30 September 2024.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $60,666 - $63,222 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

- Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
